Chairman and CEO

Robert is Chairman and CEO.

Robert has worked for the company since 2001. His expertise extends across sales and marketing, asset management and innovation. He has led the company since 2004, when he led an employee buyout. In 2015, he effected a CVA of the company to resolve a long-standing pension liability, relieving the company of £100M of liabilities in exchange for an equity and loan arrangement.

Robert sits as a NED on the Energy Systems Catapult Board, is the founder of The Energy Innovation Centre, The Cheshire Energy Hub and the Cheshire Sustainability Commission. He is also past president and Life Fellow of the Institute of Asset Management, Chairs the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership R&A Committee and sits on their Strategy Board.

Commercial Director

Dave holds the role of Commercial Director having joined the company in 2009.

A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IET, Dave has over 19 years of experience in the sector with an active history in innovation, asset management and the decarbonisation agenda. Today he is responsible for commercial development and the scale-up of all EA Technology’s products and services, implementing the outputs of innovation into a global market.

He has a track record in international business development, and was pivotal in creating, bidding and delivering several key innovation projects including the UK’s largest grid / electric vehicle trials. Dave is a member of the Ofgem/BEIS Smart Systems Forum and IET’s Energy Policy panel. He also represented the CBI’s Regional Council from 2016-19.

Group Chief Finance Officer

Julie is the Group Chief Finance Officer. she joined EA Technology in 2000 and was appointed to the Board in 2016.

A Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) with over 25years experience in finance, Julie works closely with the CEO and Executive team and serves as an effective business partner who can influence and collaborate across the Group.

She is commercially focussed and a competent strategic thinker with a keen eye to detail. A strong technical knowledge is coupled with a drive towards delivering results. She is highly motivated to drive strategic growth across the Group whilst maintaining financial stability.

Operations Director

Mark holds the role of Operations Director.

He leads a multidisciplinary team of 100 professionals delivering a diverse portfolio of products and services that provide customers with the outcomes they need to run their electricity networks. His team cover global equipment supply and logistics, lab and field services, training, product development, data infrastructure and IT.

A Chartered Electrical Engineer with a background in high voltage testing and management of electrical assets, Mark joined EA Technology in 1991 and has held a number of operational and leadership roles. His depth of experience as a deliverer, manager and director give him great perspective in operational matters and strategy formulation. He is passionate about building great teams, developing talent and empowering people to do what they’re great at.

HR Director

Lynne holds the role of HR Director having joined the Company on 1st October 2018.

A CIPD qualified HR professional, Lynne has extensive experience in all aspects of HR within both Manufacturing and Commercial environments in the energy sector, primarily Oil & Gas, working for Shell, BP and latterly Essar Oil UK Ltd prior to joining EA Technology Ltd. Throughout her career, Lynne has worked with Senior Leadership teams continuously demonstrating the ability to think strategically and apply HR tools and practices to influence at all levels across the business. She has demonstrated skills in building and coaching professional HR teams to deliver challenging HR change agendas and continuously improve HR service delivery. She is commercially focused and passionate about making change happen to enhance business performance through people.

Managing Director Australia

Neil is the Managing Director of EA Technology Australia.

A Chartered Engineer and Member of the IET, Neil has over 25 years of experience in the sector and a long and varied career in EA Technology since joining the UK business in 1996. Starting in a technical services role he played a leading part in the development of non-intrusive condition monitoring tools and techniques for HV assets. An innovator who led the development team that won two UK Queens Awards for Innovation, he also played an integral role in the international development of EA Technology and the establishment of the global subsidiary companies.

Neil was Group Commercial Director of EA Technology before leaving the UK in 2014 to take over the running of EA Technology’s operations in Australasia with wider remit to work within the Asia Pacific regional businesses.

Managing Director

Victor is an experienced electrical engineer with over 20 years of operational experience within the power sector. He has held engineering management positions with a large Singapore electricity utility and has an extensive operational background with the maintenance and operation on the transmission and distribution asset.

Victor joined EA Technology in September 2011 and established EA Technology Asset Management in Singapore. This subsidiary company provides a full range of products and services direct to customers and through its network of local distribution partners across South East Asia. Victor is the managing director for EA Technology Asset Management Pte Ltd. In January 2015, Victor took over the operations of Shanghai business. Being a managing director for both EA Technology Asset Management Pte Ltd and EA Technology (Shanghai) Ltd, Victor holds overall responsibilities for the operations of the South East Asia and China businesses.

President

William has been president of EA Technology LLC since founding it in 2013. His responsibilities involve general management of the company which is responsible for EA Technology activities in North and South America. William is also responsible for sales, service, support and training on partial discharge instruments and condition-based asset management. He is an author or co-author of several industry papers.

Prior to EA, William was vice president of RFL Electronics Inc. Research and Development Engineering group from 1994. His responsibilities included corporate management, new product development, manufacturing engineering, and technical support. He joined RFL in 1988. Bill is a senior member of the IEEE and has co-authored a number of IEEE standards in the field of power system protection and communications. He holds one patent in this area as well.

Bill received his BS degree from Rutgers, The State University on NJ, School of Engineering in 1984 and worked in the biomedical engineering field for 4 years prior to joining RFL.

Non-Executive Director

Jon is a Non-Executive Director of EA Technology.

A Chartered Accountant, Jon has almost 40 years’ experience in business ranging from CEO and CFO positions in Public and Private Equity backed companies and Partner/Owner of Professional services firms.

He has previously been Chairman of a Public Company (Dee Valley Group) prior to its successful sale and Vice Chairman of the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. Jon currently he holds other Non-Executive roles in Construction (Chairman of Seddon Group), Marine Engineering (Cammell Laird and Atlantic & Peninsula), Professional Services (DSW Capital) and a Medical Charity (IVCC).

Non-Executive Director

Steve is a Non-Executive Director of EA Technology.

A challenging and strategic professional. His experience of being a lawyer, managing lawyers and engaging with business has provided him with a unique opportunity. Harnessing that experience has nurtured an ability to understand business with a particular focus on B2B service, the use of professional service providers, strategic management and the importance of creativity. This mix allows him to contribute significantly to his current roles.

In all of his roles, he aims to be dynamic, facilitating transformation and empowering of those he works with. He will challenge and make it his job to seek the truth and answers to the most challenging questions. He is a natural problem solver happy to address a problem using facts and analysis to shape new solutions and inspire new perspectives. He values individuality and originality and will try and unlock creativity in those around him.

Non-Executive Director

EA Technology has appointed Lionel Paillet, a former senior executive of Apple and Nest Managing Director as a non-executive director.

In the early 2000’s, after Steve Jobs returned as CEO at Apple, Mr Paillet formed part of the organisation’s European Leadership team for 13 years. He had responsibility for business development and professional, creative, enterprise and education markets across EMEA, then was responsible for products sales for Germany, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Eastern Europe and Poland. 

Most recently, Mr Paillet was Managing Director Europe for Nest, and set up the company, founded by Matt Rogers and Tony Fadell, in Europe. The Nest Learning Thermostat anchored the SmartHome category, thanks to close cooperation with leading energy companies across the globe. Since 2011, Nest users around the world have saved more than 70 billion kilowatt hours of energy. 

Mr Paillet is looking forward to contributing to EA Technology’s scale-up momentum via its software and services offering. He says: “As networks are ageing, and both user and business demand grow massively, we need to add transparency and intelligence to our networks and let go of the past. Energy networks are already starting to pivot and accelerate this digitisation. Timing will be everything and a sense of urgency is now required. EA Technology is a world leader in electricity network management and insights, and I am eagerly anticipating working closely with both the leadership and product teams.”
