EA Technology | Invest is an online tool that has been designed and built for network operators to meet their asset management and investment decision support needs. EA Technology | Invest is our third-generation asset management software, building on industry-standard models and delivered as a modern web-based tool with a clear and intuitive user interface.
Asset engineers need to keep the assets that they manage in a safe, reliable condition at the lowest possible cost. EA Technology | Invest provides a structured framework that allows them to assess asset health, predict when assets might fail and understand the consequences of failure. The software gives asset engineers an objective, defensible evaluation of how assets can be expected to perform both now and into the future.
We also offer a range of options to import asset data into the EA Technology | Invest system, and then view this data on a map or through more traditional tables and reports. The user interface is configurable, with a range of display options. We recognise that different users want to navigate the data in different ways so whether you are a planner, an asset engineer or a manager you will be able to get the information you need in just a few clicks.
Asset Management Methodology - CBRM and CNAIM
CBRM - Condition-Based Risk Management
CBRM is a methodology which allows asset managers to move away from age-based (traditional) replacement decisions and use monetised risk instead to prioritise replacement of assets.
Failure curves are traditionally based on the age of an asset. CBRM replaces age with an asset health index (AHI). The AHI represents the condition of the asset and allows calculation of an individual probability of failure for each asset in the population. Monetised consequences of failure can then be multiplied by the probability of failure to determine the risk associated with each individual asset and then summed to determine network-wide risk.

CNAIM - Common Network Asset Indices Methodology
CNAIM is a framework agreed by the distribution network operators and the regulator in Great Britain (OFGEM) for benchmarking each electrical utility against the broader industry, applying for regulatory funding for replacement capital expenditure and for ongoing reporting of progress to target during the regulatory period.
It is prescriptive and mandates the use of a certain set of data points for each calculation, the calibration values to be used and the way each calculation is to be performed.
