An EA Technology webinar, in collaboration with the Electricity Engineers' Association of New Zealand (EEA).
Have you been seeing more electric vehicles (EVs) on the road? The EV/hybrid annual market share of all new vehicles has jumped from 2.33% in 2020 to 11.75% in 2023. This means, one in ten new vehicles is either an EV or hybrid!
In order to help EDBs embrace EV growth, EEA has taken several initiatives such as FlexTalk, an industry initiative that applies the communication protocol to achieve interoperability between EDBs and flexibility suppliers in order to actively manage charging of EVs.
This joint webinar outlines solutions for network operators to cope with the increased charging demands brought about by EVs.
Specifically, we will be exploring learnings from the Charge Project which created ConnectMore - an interactive online map and cost estimator that shows the best locations to install charge points, taking into consideration both capacity demand in the area and how well it can be accommodated by the grid.
Watch the recorded webinar to find our how learnings from the Charge Project can be applied for networks in New Zealand!
Conducted by EEA's Executive Director, Peter Berry and EA Technology's leaders in network transformation Ian Cooper and Dr Yogendra Vashishtha.
Topics covered:
- Current trends in the EV market
- Overview of the Charge Project: Processes, outcomes and benefits
- Demonstration of the ConnectMore tool: Visualise network capacity and project EV demand from 2025 – 2050
- How learnings from the Charge Project can be applied for networks in New Zealand
