Client: TasNetworks - A Government State owned company responsible for electricity transmission and distribution
The client was keen to support and harness the undergoing energy revolution. This includes enabling the Distributed Energy Resource (DER) orchestration, capacity trading, aggregation and management and transport decarbonisation. This will rely on a good understanding of their existing level of hosting capacity, requiring a DER hosting capacity assessment that supports a strategic approach, ahead of the next regulatory reset.
Our Approach
We identified a number of prototypical LV circuits that could be considered as being representative of majority of the network. We worked with the client to gather data on a number of circuits within each prototypical class.
Currently, we are performing detailed power systems analysis using Sincal to subsequently identify the levels of DER that they could accommodate before breaching voltage or reverse power limits.
