Managing Director of VisNet

Dave holds the role of Commercial Director having joined the company in 2009.

A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IET, Dave has over 19 years of experience in the sector with an active history in innovation, asset management and the decarbonisation agenda. Today he is responsible for commercial development and the scale-up of all EA Technology’s products and services, implementing the outputs of innovation into a global market.

He has a track record in international business development, and was pivotal in creating, bidding and delivering several key innovation projects including the UK’s largest grid / electric vehicle trials. Dave is a member of the Ofgem/BEIS Smart Systems Forum and IET’s Energy Policy panel. He also represented the CBI’s Regional Council from 2016-19.

Director

Mark Sprawson is an internationally recognised thought leader in the drive towards lower emission, lower cost, higher security electricity networks. His engineering background ensures he provides clients with long term value in building strategies and integrating innovation into business as usual.

Mark is the Director of EA Technology’s Consultancy Insights business, leading a team of approximately 50 professionals. Its aim is to support the strategic choices for energy network customers through its consultancy services and embedded software platforms, with core offerings related to quantifying and reducing investment uncertainty for power assets, improving network resilience, addressing future demands and assisting with the transition to Distribution System Operator roles in a reformed energy marketplace.

Over his 15 years in the UK electricity industry, Mark has pioneered some of the work in techno-economic modelling; demonstrating the value of innovation in a fast-changing world and has played a key role in delivering flagship projects across the world, including in the UK, Australia and Singapore.

Consultant, Net Zero Transition

Sebastian is a Consultant, working in the Net Zero Transition Team at EA Technology.

Sebastian graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from UCL where he picked up an interest in renewable energy systems. Since joining EA Technology he has been looking into the challenges facing the energy supply industry, including themes such as future skills requirements, use of data, development of smart local energy systems and integration of Low Carbon Technologies.

In the Net Zero Transition Team, Sebastian has been involved in a range of projects including: evaluating decarbonisation solutions for industry, identifying smart local energy system opportunities, predicting ultrarapid EV charging behaviour and analysing the impact of Low Carbon Technologies on the distribution network.
