Electrical Safety Rules

Background

This project was to review our client’s electrical safety rules and determine their adequacy in comparison to our client’s National Laws, National and International Guidance Standards and International best practice. Our client’s
major responsibilities include the design, construction, operation and maintenance of a large electrical distribution network, and therefore safety through robust electrical safety rules is imperative.

Challenge

The challenge was to review our client’s current electrical safety rules in order to:
-Identify any shortcomings in relation to their robustness and appropriateness
-Recommend changes that would bring the current electrical safety rules in-line with our client’s National Laws, National and International Guidance Standards and International best practice.
-Provide quantitative estimates of risk for each recommended change.
