Head of Net Zero Transition

David is a Chartered Engineer and has been working with the electricity networks, energy users and renewable developers globally to provide power systems consultancy for more than 10 years.  He brings a strong technical background in power networks along with an entrepreneurial approach to the development of consultancy teams and business.

He is driven to accelerate the decarbonisation agenda and leads a team identifying opportunities and methods to overcome technical and commercial constraints in their Net Zero Transition.

Team Lead - Decarbonisation

Ben is a Chartered Engineer with over 8 years’ experience within the vehicle electrification space. Ben's expertise spans across multiple disciplines, particularly in the electrification of automotive and construction machinery. Passionate about driving the transition to a net-zero future, Ben is dedicated to actively contributing towards achieving this goal. He brings a fresh and invaluable outside perspective to the energy sector, consistently delivering innovative solutions that propel sustainable progress.

Senior Consultant, Net Zero Transition

Esther is a Senior Consultant in the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure team.  She is a Chartered Engineer with over a decade of experience in the power engineering sector, focusing on low carbon technologies such as electric vehicles and energy storage.  She has a particular interest in the integration of electric vehicles with the energy system.  Recent project experience includes acting as technical lead for Electric Nation : Electric Nation, a large trial of domestic smart charging which demonstrated how this technology can be used with high customer acceptability to manage increased demand on electricity networks relating to EV charging.  She is currently overseeing the integration of transport model data within the ConnectMore tool on the Charge project.  ConnectMore will allow stakeholders to understand demand for EV charging, and the available network capacity within a single tool, facilitating the roll-out of EV charging infrastructure.

 Esther is also actively involved in promoting STEM and engineering to a diverse audience, including recently completing a project with the Queen’s School in Chester, and presenting her work on Electric Nation to the LGBT STEMinar.

Consultant, Net Zero Transition

Kate has just graduated with a PhD in next generation battery technology and has worked across multiple energy disciplines from oilfield services to large end energy users on optimisation of processes to streamline efficiency and energy usage. Over her career, her passion for the future of energy has continued to grow and she looks forward to developing this further in her new role at EA Technology.

She’s very excited to be on the forefront of the net zero transition and to learn and develop during her new role.

Consultant, Net Zero Transition

Karen has worked at EA Technology for over 15 years. She has been a key team member involved in the delivery of many of our largescale innovation projects including Electric Nation, OpenLV and Charge taking particular interest in customer interaction with our evolving energy system.

She is currently delivering projects that will enable DNO’s facilitate the Net Zero Transition.  

Senior Consultant, Net Zero Transition

Louise is a Senior Consultant in the Net Zero Transition team, working as a project manager and technical lead on projects that will provide solutions to new energy challenges. Louise has a passionate interest in all aspects of the decarbonisation challenges facing the industry.

Louise graduated with a Master’s in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, the first step on a diverse career path in the energy industry, including both electricity and gas. Working across projects involving multiple avenues to Net Zero, Louise has a passionate interest in all aspects of the decarbonisation challenges facing industry.

Consultant, Net Zero Transition

Tom holds the role of Consultant, working in the Net Zero Transition Team at EA Technology.

Tom recently completed the Cheshire Energy Hub graduate scheme where he gained experience working in a range of roles and companies within the energy sector, ranging from developing software to speed up Electric Vehicle Charge Point connection requests for EA Technology’s Innovation Delivery Team, to working in protection at Scottish Power Energy Networks.

Tom is currently involved in projects looking at enabling DNOs to facilitate the Net Zero Transition at the best possible value to customer by analysing flexible solutions to avoid costly network reinforcement, and where traditional solutions are required conducting a Cost-Benefit Analysis to demonstrate the best valued propositions.

Team Lead - Capacity

Tim is a Chartered Engineer, with more than 15-years’ experience working in highways, aerospace and energy sectors. His background provides a strong capability of both technically leading projects and managing multi-million-pound programmes in multiple industrial sectors, including highly regulated environments. Since joining EA Technology, he has project managed several of our ground-breaking innovation projects, including My Electric Avenue, the first in the UK to directly control domestic customer EV Charging, and OpenLV, which directly led to the deployment of our Low Voltage Monitoring, VisNet Hub. More recently, he has managed delivery of the ConnectMore tool as part of the Charge Project, designed to enable customers to immediately generate quotations for a new network connection.

His focus is on achieving a sustainable, zero carbon energy network to support global decarbonisation targets, whilst improving the effectiveness of the systems and tools used to undertake work within the team.

Consultant, Net Zero Transition

Will holds a PhD in Chemistry, designing high-energy density cathode materials for Li-ion batteries. He joined Morgan Advanced Materials, developing low-cost synthesis routes to develop novel materials for Solid-State batteries. He then worked for Petronas at the University of Manchester developing ultra-fast charging solid-state batteries at an industrial scale. Alongside this role, Will worked at CRU International, consulting companies on Giga-factory construction, supply-chain trends, and long-term battery cost forecasting. He is excited to apply these skills at EA Technology to deliver meaningful impact on the transition to a net-zero.

Consultant, Net Zero Transition

Yaashiene is a Graduate Consultant in the Net Zero Transition team at EA Technology.

Yaashiene graduated with a MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London, where she learnt about creating sustainable engineering solutions to everyday problems. Yaashiene will be working on developing tools and methodologies to quantify carbon emissions in specific sectors and analysing how these impacts can be minimised to reach net zero emissions.

Team Lead - Reliability

Waqas is a Chartered Engineer and holds a PhD in Electrical Power Engineering. As part of his doctorate, Waqas developed an online methodology for fault localisations in Low Voltage DC Microgrids. Over Waqas’ career, he has conducted various technical studies, and has contributed to a range of innovative projects in the industry.   

Waqas is eager to leverage his extensive experience to drive a meaningful impact in the transition to Net Zero.

Consultant, Net Zero Transition

Ruth is a Consultant for the Net Zero Transition team, at EA Technology. She has over 3 years experience working in consultancy, working closely with different stakeholders to develop actionable points to reach net zero goals at a local authority level. Ruth also has technical experience, both developing and refining Local Area Energy Plans (LAEPs), with an emphasis on whole systems modelling. 

‘I’m keen to bring the whole systems thinking into the discussion around electricity network decarbonisation. I’m also eager to explore ideas that lead to a more resilient decarbonised electricity network.’ 

Consultant

Andy is a Consultant in the Net Zero Transition team at EA Technology. He holds a PhD in Bioenergy, focusing on small-scale combustion processes and energy generation from waste. Prior to joining EA Technology, Andy worked as an Innovation Engineer at the Energy Innovation Centre (EIC) where he supported the delivery of innovation projects on behalf of DNOs, gas distribution and electricity transmission networks. Prior to joining the energy sector, Andy has held roles in consultancy, academic research and geoenvironmental engineering.

Anosha holds an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree in Sustainable Transportation and Electric Power Systems, an enriching programme that took her across Italy, Spain, and the UK. This diverse academic journey has equipped Anosha with a deep understanding of global energy systems and sustainable transportation infrastructure. Anosha’s studies specifically emphasized the transition to cleaner, more sustainable transportation solutions, igniting her passion for making a meaningful impact in this vital field.

Anosha also has two years’ experience working at Toyota, where she was instrumental in driving initiatives that support the company's net zero objectives.

Being part of the Net Zero Transition team, which is  committed to reducing carbon emissions and driving the transition to a greener future is both inspiring and fulfilling.’

Graduate Consultant

Fuqian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a Master’s in Technology Management, where his studies have sparked a strong interest in sustainable development in the electrical industry.
