Chief Executive Officer

Gareth Burton joined EA Technology in February 2026, leading the business into its next phase of growth, expanding our hardware and software capabilities, step-changing our international presence, and continuing to deliver even greater value for customers through our core propositions.

Gareth brings deep experience scaling technology-led businesses, leading international teams, and translating complex capability into meaningful customer outcomes. Most recently, he was CEO of Orbus Software, a global enterprise architecture software business. Over three and a half years, he led a team of around 300 people across the UK, Australia, the US and the Middle East, more than doubling revenue.

Prior to this, Gareth led Thinkproject, a European construction technology software company, guiding a significant transformation, delivering strong revenue growth and executing an active M&A strategy, culminating in the successful sale of the company in 2020.

Earlier in his career, Gareth served as CIO at Finastra and held senior technology leadership roles across the construction and oil & gas sectors. He began his career in international development roles at Motorola and BT, ultimately leading Motorola’s global Managed Services business, and has also previously chaired Actico Group.

Gareth holds a BSc from Swansea University and is a graduate of the INSEAD International Executive Programme. Outside of work, he enjoys skiing, cycling and travel, and is a keen supporter of Welsh rugby.

Chief Financial Officer 

Julie is the Group Chief Finance Officer. she joined EA Technology in 2000 and was appointed to the Board in 2016.

A Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) with over 25years experience in finance, Julie works closely with the CEO and Executive team and serves as an effective business partner who can influence and collaborate across the Group.

She is commercially focussed and a competent strategic thinker with a keen eye to detail. A strong technical knowledge is coupled with a drive towards delivering results. She is highly motivated to drive strategic growth across the Group whilst maintaining financial stability.

Chief Technology Officer

Dave is the Chief Technology Officer of EA Technology’s VisNet Monitoring business, where he drives the execution of it’s rapidly growing hardware and data insights portfolio for Low Voltage grids. 

With over 24 years of experience in the power sector, Dave’s career has covered innovation, energy decarbonisation, and the implementation of cutting-edge technology. As a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IET, he has a proven track record in international business development and successfully delivered major sales and innovative projects, including the UK's largest grid/electric vehicle trials.

Outside of work, he is a surfer, snowboarder, and reluctant runner, living with his wife and two sons in North Wales.

Chief Operating Officer

Ian Cameron is Chief Operating Officer at EA Technology.

Ian has over 25 years of international experience in the electricity distribution networks industry, with expertise spanning network operations, capital construction, and connections. His work over the past decade has focused on renewables and process optimization, driving innovative approaches to Net Zero challenges.

Under his leadership, more than 5GW of renewable generation was connected to the UK grid, and his innovation products have resulted in savings exceeding £420 million for customer. Ian’s commitment to advancing commercial and technological innovation aligns with his dedication to meeting the UK's secure, low-carbon energy needs and achieving Net Zero targets.

Ian holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. He has also served in several strategic advisory roles, including positions on the Mayor of London’s EV Taskforce and the Ofgem £450m Strategic Innovation Fund Advisory Board.

Chief Growth Officer

Jane Hoffer is Chief Growth Officer at EA Technology, bringing more than 20 years of global leadership experience across the energy, mobility and infrastructure sectors. She has held senior executive roles including CEO, COO, Founder and Chief Business Officer, with a strong track record of scaling technology-led businesses, driving international growth, and supporting successful investment and exit outcomes.

Jane has led geographically dispersed teams across nearly 40 countries and built strategic partnerships with major global energy players. In her role at EA Technology, she has executive responsibility for the company’s USA and European operations, playing a key role in delivering EA Technology’s international growth ambitions.

Jane holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and has previously worked at IBM and Bell Labs. She was recognised as a Top Woman in EV Strategy in 2022 and is a regular speaker at international industry events

Chief Commercial Officer

Mark Sprawson is a globally recognised thought leader in the drive towards lower emission, lower cost and higher security networks. His engineering background ensures he provides clients with long term value in building strategies and integrating innovation into business as usual.

As Chief Commercial Officer at EA Technology, he drives growth in network reliability, resilience, asset management optimisation, and grid access. With over 20 years in the industry, Mark has pioneered techno-economic modelling and led key projects across four continents, helping utilities make strategic, future-focused decisions to support the transition to Net Zero

Chief People Officer

Nik is the Chief People Officer, and his mission is to ensure that EA Technology is an Exciting Place to Work. He joined the company in 2024.

Nik is a seasoned Human Resources leader with over 25 years of experience working with engineering, scientific and software professionals in both large corporate and SME businesses. He has worked extensively with teams across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, enabling business growth through organizational transformation, talent management, and leadership development.

Nik’s track record includes establishing HR frameworks that attract, develop, and retain high-calibre technical talent, essential for scaling businesses within competitive, innovation-driven industries.

Nik holds a Masters degree in Chemistry from Oxford University and is a qualified practitioner across a broad range of psychometric tools.

International Director 

Neil Davies is the International Director of EA Technology Australia with over 30 years of global experience in the power engineering sector.

He is responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of EA Technology’s asset management solutions for high and low-voltage networks. As a Chartered Engineer, Neil is involved in shaping the future networks through the management of power assets and works with customers and the industry on their journey towards a clean energy future. 

Neil joined EA Technology in the United Kingdom in 1996 in a technical services role. Pivotal in the company’s growth and innovation, he led an award-winning development team that secured two UK Queen’s Awards for Innovation. Neil was instrumental in EA Technology’s global expansion helping establish the company’s presence in Australia and Singapore.
